Agreement enhances the import and export data available to ChemicalInfo subscribers

PR Newswire

DALLAS, Feb. 8, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- ChemicalInfo, providers of the most comprehensive online databases for chemical and pharmaceutical companies and those who do business with them, now offers waterborne import-export information based on bills of lading filed with U.S. Customs. The trade data is made available through Descartes' Datamyne cloud-based global trade content and market intelligence solutions.

ChemicalInfo has provided searchable import and export trade data since 2014.  A 2016 customer survey revealed high interest in expanded search capabilities and other enhanced features. Under the new licensing agreement with Descartes, ChemicalInfo subscribers can search two full years of import and export data covering U.S. companies and their trading partners in over 230 markets for shipments of specific chemical products. Subscribers can also view and download the details of individual shipments.

This powerful combination gives ChemicalInfo subscribers access to company-specific details of import and export activities, including total volumes and estimated values, information essential to making astute sourcing decisions.

"We maintain a very high customer retention rate by consistently listening to our subscribers and quickly responding to their needs," states Ernie Cote, the company's CEO. "Working with Descartes is a great example of this. Our customers wanted enhanced trade data matched by chemical specific names instead of by broad HS categories. Descartes' Datamyne trade content can deliver this. We're excited to work closely with them this year to meet our customers' requests."

"We are thrilled to provide our trade data to ChemicalInfo subscribers to help them evaluate new chemical suppliers, says Brendan McCahill, Sr. VP of Trade Data Content at Descartes. "Our trade information helps mitigate supply chain risk and improve supply chain efficiency."

ChemicalInfo subscribers can access the current trade data within the Directory of World Chemical Producers (DWCP) and PathFinder. For more information, please visit ChemicalInfo online here.
