NEW YORK --

Frederick Wildman & Sons is proud to announce this fall’s national distribution of Champagne Valentin Leflaive. While this Champagne has been in production since 2015, it has only been available in select regions, and in very limited quantities, to date. Beginning this October, the celebrated champagne will pour its way across the U.S. market for the first time.

Champagne Valentin Leflaive was created through a fortuitous collaboration emanating from one of Champagne producer Erick de Sousa’s many trips to Leflaive’s vineyard in Burgundy’s Puligny-Montrachet region, where Leflaive proposed the friends embark on a joint venture.

“This Champagne celebrates passion, heritage, curiosity, and custom. It is extremely exciting to be able to share this special project with an even wider audience,” says Leflaive. Olivier Leflaive started his wine career at his family’s legendary estate, Domaine Leflaive, in the Cote de Beaune before creating his own label in 1984. Today he is regarded as one of the premier producers from Burgundy.

Their vision for Champagne Valentin Leflaive was to blend each vintner’s distinct style and create a unique champagne made from the highest-quality Chardonnay grapes from Cote des Blancs and Pinot Noir grapes from Montagne de Reims. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks and vintage Burgundy oak barrels sent to Sousa’s estate by Leflaive, resulting in a charming Champagne teeming with notes of crisp white fruit and elegant minerality.

“For almost a century, our family has worked together to produce an uncompromising champagne, and it is exciting to be able to continue this tradition with close friends who also share in our passion for quality and excellence,” says Erick de Sousa, who has been helming Champagne de Souza’s Avize estate since 1986.

Champagne Valentin Leflaive is available in two varietals: Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs (SRP: $74.99) and Brut Rosé (SRP: $74.99). Made with extreme precision, each cuvée exudes elegance, finesse, and minerality.
