Proceeds from Boston Pizza's annual heart-shaped pizza fundraiser support role modelling and mentoring for Canadian kids

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Feb. 10, 2016 /CNW/ - Any way you slice it, Valentine's Day is a time to spread love and once again Boston Pizza is helping Canadians open their hearts with its 24th annual heart-shaped pizza fundraising campaign. On February 14, one dollar from every heart-shaped pizza sold across Canada will go to support Boston Pizza Foundation (BPF) Future Prospects which helps make futures bright by connecting kids with role models in their communities.

"Boston Pizza's heart-shaped pizzas have become a Valentine's Day tradition for Canadian families, groups of friends and couples alike," says Steve Silverstone, Executive Vice President of Marketing, Boston Pizza International. "We look forward to celebrating love in all its forms with our guests this year as they help us reach our goal of raising more than half a million dollars to support kids' futures across the country."

Helping Canadians create their pizza soulmate, heart-shaped pizzas are offered in small and medium size, on Boston Pizza's hand-pressed classic or multigrain dough (excluding thin crust), and can be ordered for dine-in, take-out or delivery. With heart-shaped pizzas available in any of Boston Pizza's gourmet and create-your-own pizza varieties, it will be love at first bite.

From now until February 14, guests can also make a minimum donation of $2 to BPF Future Prospects and receive a Boston Pizza Peel & Win Heart. Every heart is a winner with prizes such as $2 off dessert, a free Panookie, free Flatbread Pizzatizer™ or $5 off your next $25 takeout or delivery order.

BPF Future Prospects is committed to connecting kids with role models in their communities to ensure they have the guidance necessary to support their bright futures. With partner organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, JDRF, Kids Help Phone, Live Different, and the Rick Hansen Foundation, proceeds from Boston Pizza's Valentine's Day campaign go toward funding programs and increasing resources for these inspiring initiatives.

"Future Prospects was created because we know in this ever-changing world that we live in, all children need positive role models in their life. When a child has someone to look up to, their outlook changes and they're better equipped to realize their full potential," says Cheryl Treliving, Executive Director of Boston Pizza Foundation. "Together with our partner organizations, we are determined to provide youth across Canada with the right tools and mentors which support and encourage them to be their best. To date, Boston Pizza's annual Valentine's Day initiative has helped raise more than $6 million for Boston Pizza Foundation Future Prospects and we are so thankful for the continued support of our guests."
