TORONTO, April 30, 2019 /CNW/ - BMO Financial Group today announced a $50,000 donation to the Canadian Red Cross to support communities affected by the floods in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick.

"We understand those affected by the flooding are living with uncertainty, and we're here to help during this difficult time," said Alexandra Dousmanis-Curtis, Head, Canadian Sales and Distribution, BMO Financial Group. "Our most sincere thanks go out to the first responders and volunteers who are working to ensure the safety of those living in affected communities."

In addition to this donation, BMO is supporting its customers in a variety of ways:

  • Deferral of principal and interest payments on personal loans and mortgages
  • Deferral of personal credit card payments
  • Special accommodations for BMO Small Business and Business Banking clients, on a case-by-case basis
  • Fast tracking of Creditor Insurance claims for clients whose employment is impacted by the flooding

Starting April 30, 2019, any employee or customer wishing to make a donation will be able to do so at all our Canadian branches.
