Check out our new two-minute video that explains the INK Edge Outlook ranking process for stocks. Our goal in producing it was to cut through the haze to give our users a quick meaningful introduction on how to use INK Edge outlooks in real life investing. We hope you enjoy it!

INK Edge Outlook stock rankings are updated daily on INKResearch.com https://www.inkresearch.com/

And in our company PDF reports. And, monthly for free on CanadianInsider.com https://www.canadianinsider.com/.

To get a ranking a stock must typically have a minimum $25 million market cap.

Rankings are based off of three quantitative elements.

We look at Value using traditional metrics like P/E and Price-to-Sales. Basically, we are looking for cheap stocks.

Secondly, we look at Insider Commitment that incorporates legally reported officer and director holdings and buying activity. We are looking for insiders that have skin in the game.

Finally, we look at Price Momentum that incorporates a stock’s short-term and medium-term relative price strength. We are looking for stocks that are basically going up.

An overall INK Edge Outlook ranking for a stock is determined by combining a stock’s ranking from the three categories of Value, Insider Commitment and Price Momentum to get a composite outlook ranking.

We put those rankings into one five groups.

0:57 – 2:10

The top 10% ranked stocks go into Sunny. The next 20% go into Mostly Sunny. The middle 40% go into Mixed. The next bottom 20% go into Cloudy and the very bottom 10% go into Rainy.

So get out your umbrellas, because a group of Rainy stocks is expected to underperform a group of sunny stocks.

These are not buy and sell recommendations and past success does not guarantee future success.

At INK we like to eat our own cooking and we apply the INK Edge Outlook in real life. We use it to manage the INK Canadian Index which since its inception in 2014 has outperformed the S&P/TSX Composite Index.

The Index is also used in real life by the Horizons Cdn Insider Index ETF (HII), a 2017 and 2018 Fundata Grade A+ ® award winner. https://www.canadianinsider.com/company?ticker=HII
