INK Ultra Money has an eye-opening Real Vision episode with David Andolfatto, economist and senior vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. In an insightful interview with Pedro da Costa, David answers some big questions including whether the Fed has launched helicopter money and the central bank's role in generating wealth inequality. It is a great interview and is another example of why I brought Real Vison onto the INK platform. Please enjoy!

US economic data has turned down

In my regular Howe Street interview Wednesday, I spoke with Jim Goddard about our latest Insights newsletter The Investing Game is Changing.

Unfortunately, my cell phone connection was weak, so parts of the interview were choppy. Hopefully, the baseball analogy for the junior mining bull market came through! In the last segment that starts at 18:18 I make two points with respect to the recent moves in cryptocurrencies. First, I suggest that Ethereum's jump could be signalling the start of something much bigger in terms of a shake-up of the financial system.

Second, I make the case that while gold is a senior store of value, bitcoin is emerging as a junior store-of-value with more volatility and potentially higher returns. I also suggest that bitcoin and gold are not competitors, but are two different boats heading in the same direction.
