Biblio is Proud to Support Shakespeare's Globe

Shoppers on Biblio can now round up their purchase to support the Globe's charitable programmes

PR Newswire

ASHEVILLE, N.C., May 28, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Biblio.co.uk is now offering a chance for their customers to round up their purchases to donate to The Shakespeare Globe Trust.

This new partnership is part of Biblio's continuing efforts to remain a socially responsible business through its charity donor tool, Round Up For Reading. The feature has been a part of their online checkout since 2003 and it provides an option for customers to donate to literacy and book-based charities by rounding up their purchase to the nearest dollar amount.

Shakespeare's Globe is a reconstruction of Shakespeare's original theatre on the bank of the river Thames. As the Globe does not receive any annual government subsidy, contributions are vital to support its mission: producing world-class productions; offering pioneering education programmes; training teachers; and creating thousands of empowering experiences of Shakespeare for all.

Brendan Sherar, founder and CEO of Biblio, said "When we launched Biblio our goal was to expand the reach of independent, professional booksellers to their potential customers, but also to do our best to help promote social responsibility, including supporting literacy initiatives and book-related non-profits around the world. Biblio.co.uk has been going strong for a decade, and now we are pleased to partner with Shakespeare's Globe to offer them the benefits of our Round Up For Reading program."

Shakespeare's Globe and Biblio will both be presenting at Firsts – London's Rare Book Fair, presented by the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association on 7 - 9 June 2019. Biblio is the Official Partner of the event and the Charity Partner for this year's fair is Shakespeare's Globe. The Globe's exhibition will include the John Wolfson Collection of Rare Books related to the Bard, including a First Folio.
