ST. JOHN'S, March 30, 2020 /CNW/ - Aurion Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE: AU) ("Aurion" or the "Company") would like to provide an update on ongoing activities at the Company's exploration properties in Northern Finland and its plans to manage risks posed by COVID-19 in compliance with health authority requirements and recommendations.

The Company's priority is to protect the health and safety of its employees, contractors and stakeholders. In light of the increasing global risk due to COVID-19, the Company is increasing its efforts to ensure the safety of its team in Finland, St. John's and Toronto. The Company will continue to monitor the situation in Canada and globally and take actions based on the recommendations by the World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Canadian and Finnish governments, as well as regional authorities.

In compliance with Canadian government requirements, the Company has repatriated all Canadian citizens working in Finland. All employees and contractors are being encouraged to work from home, where possible. Work programs requiring air-travel have been postponed until they can be undertaken safely.

At this time, the Company is pleased to report that none of its employees or contractors have been diagnosed with COVID-19. In an attempt to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure Aurion has restricted access to its camp and properties and has implemented a rigorous surveillance, monitoring and response plan.

Exploration activities are currently ongoing, at a reduced rate, on the company's wholly owned Launi and Risti properties.  Results from exploration activities will be released in due course. Aurion continues to be well-funded and believes it can operate at this reduced rate through 2021.
