Artis Real Estate Investment Trust Provides Update on NCIB Activity

WINNIPEG, July 2, 2019 /CNW/ - Artis Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: AX.UN) ("Artis" or the "REIT") provided an update today on its normal course issuer bid ("NCIB") activity in June 2019.

During the month of June, Artis has acquired the following number of units through its NCIB:

  • 250,856 trust units at a weighted-average price of $11.69;
  • 7,400 Series A preferred units at a weighted-average price of $21.46;
  • 9,100 Series E preferred units at a weighted-average price of $20.20; and
  • 6,500 Series G units at a weighted-average price of $20.91.

From November 1, 2018, when the REIT announced its intention to purchase units through its NCIB, to June 30, 2019, Artis has bought back 12,901,220 trust units at a weighted-average price of $10.48, 59,300 Series A preferred units at a weighted-average price of $21.52, 68,700 Series E preferred units at a weighted-average price of $20.11, and 61,500 Series G preferred units at a weighted-average price of $21.32.

As of the date hereof, there are 140,990,000 trust units, 3,393,900 Series A preferred units, 3,936,100 Series E preferred units, 3,140,300 Series G preferred units and 5,000,000 Series I preferred units outstanding.

The REIT has an automatic purchase plan in place which allows for the continuous purchase of units and preferred units under its NCIB, including during normal blackout periods.

Property NOI is a non-GAAP measure. Artis calculates Property NOI as revenues less property operating expenses such as utilities, repairs and maintenance and realty taxes. Property NOI does not include charges for interest or other expenses not specific to the day-to-day operation of the REIT's properties.
