Company continues to streamline product lineup

TORONTO, March 9, 2016 /CNW/ - AGF Investments Inc. (AGF) today announced proposed fund mergers to streamline its product lineup and provide greater focus on key strategies.

The following proposed mergers are part of an ongoing review of our product lineup to improve efficiencies, while ensuring the products we offer are best-in-class and meet the evolving needs of our clients.

  • AGF Inflation Plus Bond Fund merging into AGF Fixed Income Plus Fund
  • AGF Canadian Small Cap Discovery Fund merging into AGF Canadian Small Cap Fund
  • AGF Canada Class merging into AGF Canadian Growth Equity Class

As previously announced in December 2015, we are also proposing the following mergers:

  • AGF Global Value Class merging into AGF Global Equity Class
  • AGF Global Value Fund merging into AGF Global Equity Fund
  • AGF International Stock Class merging into AGF Global Equity Class
  • AGF Canadian Bond Fund merging into AGF Fixed Income Plus Fund

"These changes streamline our lineup, while ensuring our products reflect our core investment management capabilities," said Kevin McCreadie, President and Chief Investment Officer, AGF Investments Inc.

Until the proposed mergers take effect, the funds will continue to be managed in accordance with the existing strategies and objectives set out in the prospectus. All costs and expenses associated with the mergers will be borne by AGF. More detailed information will be sent to investors in advance of the 2016 securityholder meetings.

Management Fee Reductions

In addition to the proposed mergers, AGF will also lower management fees on select funds across the equity, fixed income, balanced, and managed solutions lineup effective April 1, 2016.

Management fees will also be reduced on Series F for all AGF Elements Portfolios, including the corporate class versions. AGF Elements, which celebrated its 10-year anniversary this past November, is an actively managed investment solution that provides multi-layered diversification, pro-active rebalancing and risk management oversight.
