HAMILTON, ON, July 29, 2021 /CNW/ - The Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, together with the Honourable Chrystia Freeland, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister of Labour, will announce an important investment to support the Canadian steel industry's transition towards low-carbon production.

A media availability in person and by teleconference will follow the announcement.

Notes for media

In-person attendees will be required to wear a face covering at all times and to remain at least two metres apart from others.

Media representatives who will participate in a tour of the facility following the event will be provided with hard hats, safety glasses and hearing protection, which must be worn while inside the facility.

Media outlets wishing to take part in the teleconference are asked to contact ISED Media Relations no later than 5 p.m. (ET) on July 29 to receive the dial-in information.

Dress code

For safety reasons, everyone attending the site visit and announcement must wear the following items:

  • closed-toe, low-heel footwear with a nonslip bottom
  • socks
  • long sleeves (shirt or jacket)
  • long pants that cover all the way down to the ankles
