While many industry observers are predicting an unprecedented demographic shock, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will moderate a panel discussion, which will answer many questions regarding the future of housing in Montreal.

CMHC Market Economists Francis Cortellino and Lukas Jasmin-Tucci will give a presentation on the housing outlook and trends for Montreal, and touch on how demographic changes expected over the next 10 to 20 years will affect the housing market in the region.

CMHC will also publish Francis Cortellino's report on the future of housing in Montreal, to be released the day of the event, at 7:30 AM. The report will provide more details on the topic of demographic changes in the region and will be available on CMHC's web site.

Event Date: Wednesday, December 4, 2019

Time: The event will start at 7:45 AM ET, but the panel discussion will start at 8:10 AM and the presentation on Montreal's property market of today and tomorrow will start at 9:20 AM.

Location: Palais des congrès de Montréal, room 710

Reporters will have opportunities for one-on-one interviews with the speakers following the presentations or at the break (at about 10:05 AM). Media are welcome at any time during the event. Identification for accreditation will be required.
