SALT LAKE CITY --

EnerBank USA®, the national consumer lender that helps strategic business partners and independent home improvement contractors increase their sales, today announced the retirement of Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, John Harris. Mr. Harris joined the bank in 2004, and his strategic direction helped the home improvement lender achieve exceptional growth while building out a high-performing sales and marketing team that continues to drive industry-leading results. He has played a pivotal role in shaping strategy and policy for the bank.

Last year, Mr. Harris was honored with the Utah Business Sales & Marketer of the Year (SAMY) Award, as well as a Gold Stevie® in the Lifetime Achievement Award — Business Services Industries category of the Annual American Business Awards®.

“John’s leadership has been critical to EnerBank’s success,” said Charlie Knadler, President and CEO of EnerBank. “I’ve enjoyed our association on the executive team and will miss the planning, execution and dedication he brought to EnerBank. Over the years, John has developed and delivered customer initiatives that routinely exceed sales goals. His marketing and sales teams understand the market’s behavior and trends, and are able to anticipate advance needs.”

For the past three years, Mr. Harris has provided for a smooth transition by mentoring Joel Cannon as his eventual replacement, and Mr. Cannon now takes the reins as EnerBank’s new Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, empowered to drive results that will continue to place EnerBank as a market leader for years to come.

“We’re in good hands with Joel, who brings tremendous skills and experience to our organization,” said Mr. Knadler. “Building on what John has developed, Joel will continue contributing to our high growth while bringing dynamic new ideas to the table.”

Mr. Cannon leads a team of talented sales, marketing and training professionals charged with delivering on EnerBank’s mission. His promotion was effective April 2019. Before joining EnerBank in 2015, Mr. Cannon served in a range of key roles, including Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer at JobDash and Vice President of Operations at Neutron Interactive. Mr. Cannon is also a past board chair and current executive board member at Utah based non-profit, People Helping People.
