.406 Ventures Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary and Announces Team Expansion

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwired - June 21, 2016) - .406 Ventures, the Boston-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage innovative enterprise technology companies, celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year. The firm also announced team expansion at its Annual Meeting.

Over the past 10 years, .406 has raised ~$650M across four funds, invested in 45 next-generation companies and created $5B in enterprise value. .406 portfolio companies have raised $1.2B in total capital and continue to solve pressing challenges within their areas of focus. .406 has also funded five repeat .406 entrepreneurs and co-invested with over 50 world-class investment firms from around the world.

Liam Donohue, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, stated, "The time has really flown by. I am really proud that 6 of us have been working together for over 8 years now. I firmly believe that this stability and the fact that we enjoy working together and have very complementary skill sets has been important in building the portfolio and the .406 franchise. Maria and I are equally excited that we have added two terrific new members to our team."

.406 Ventures also announced the promotion of Payal Agrawal Divakaran to Principal and the hiring of Rob McCall as Senior Analyst.

Divakaran has already made an impact at .406 and will be empowered to make a more profound difference in her new role as Principal. Within .406, Divakaran is actively involved with portfolio companies Axial Healthcare, AbilTo, CloudHealth Technologies, Jisto, Lexumo, and Redox. Divakaran comes to the team with valuable experience at Harvard Business School, where she received her MBA with Distinction, co-founded a company called SpotRocket to help job-seeking students discover high potential startups, and spent time in Corporate Development at Eventbrite. Prior to receiving her MBA, Divakaran was an Associate at Spectrum Equity and started her career in technology investment banking at J.P. Morgan.

".406 Ventures has a unique ethos that I have experienced first-hand over the past year, and the firm was not only an obvious choice for me, but also attracts great entrepreneurs," observed Divakaran. "Continuing to be a strong and helpful partner to our portfolio companies is the most rewarding part of our job. Leveraging my varied set of experience in different roles in the technology world, along with leadership from the .406 team, will allow me to continue to be a value-added resource to my portfolio companies."

Rob McCall, .406's most recent hire, has been supporting the investment team across all of .406's investment verticals, as well as running the Student Fellows program with partner Graham Brooks. He is currently actively involved in portfolio companies Simon Data and Terbium Labs. Prior to joining, Rob worked for .406-backed startup MineralTree. More recently, McCall was a mid-market Account Manager at EMC2. He received a BA in Psychology, and minors in Economics and Environmental Science and Policy from Duke University.

"It was a great experience to work closely with the .406 team while at MineralTree. I was always impressed with how engaged they were and the value that they delivered. I am excited to be plugged back into the early stage tech community in Boston supporting our great companies and brilliant entrepreneurs," stated McCall.

"In both cases, we are ecstatic to have these extraordinarily talented people with strong skill sets, invaluable experience and a passion for working with early stage entrepreneurs at .406," Maria Cirino, Co-founder and Managing Partner at .406, expressed. "Team chemistry is vital to what we do and both Payal and Rob are very additive to the culture of our firm."
